Quoth the Raven
Quoth the Raven, "Want to play Find the Lady?"
The stranger in Ariant is named Raven, and he gets to narrate a section of the chapter. It's set apart from the rest, which is (obviously) narrated by Lotem, by a line of asterisks instead of a line of dashes. There're going to be other sections narrated by other characters, and they're going to be seperated the same way. I suppose could put the line in another color to help emphasize it. Meh. I'll do that later.
Raven is a thief. More generally, he's an Explorer, which is a kind of Mapler. He uses a robber's skills to help keep him safe and earn money (not all of it stolen) while he travels. Maplers can be rewarded with money for completing certain tasks offered by regular citizens (for example, if a monster stole something from a citizen, they might hire an explorer to recover it).
I included a picture of Raven. Well, two of him, actually. The one on the left, the black-and-white one, is a better picture of him, even though they're both in the same stance. I got his face shape better, and the expression. The one on the right is included because I colored it. Mostly. Yeah, I know I didn't color in his skin. But I did everything else.
