{A good tale feeds the
imagination}
{Antasma}
Antasma is a world that I made up. It does have magic, of which there are two kinds- usable magic and untouchable magic. The rules that apply to usable magic are:
1) If you kill someone using magic, you will be cursed for the rest of your life
2) Magic cannot create life. It can change the form of life, such as making someone younger or older, or changing someone's shape, but it cannot create life.
3) Magic cannot raise the dead. Ever.
4) Magic has to have fuel of some sort. It could be energy from a fire, energy from life, passion from emotion, energy given from oneself, energy from motion (it stops the motion when it takes the energy), energy from the sun, etc. The fuel does not have to come from energy- it could come from a previously cast spell (but only the most advanced of magic users can do this, and even then not always) or stored magic or a memory (though the strength of the magic depends on the memory. Good memories make strong magic, bad ones almost no magic at all) or even, rarely, physical objects (the object is consumed by magical fire which fuels the magic spell being cast). Some magic also requires special ingredients and there's no way around that.
5) No spell is unbreakable. The caster can, at least to an extent, chose what is necessary to break the spell, but the spell will never be unbreakable (The curse from killing someone with magic doesn't count because it isn't a spell) (ntouchable magic is different. The curse from killing with magic is non-liftable, and other untouchable magics often are permanent. But not all.)
Untouchable magic is a lot more complicated. Inherent magics, such as a magic stone, are untouchable magics. Sometimes they can be harnessed, but they are still wild and never completely under someone else's control.
There are multiple realms connecting through magic portals which can be temporary things cast by usable magic, or ever-existing portals naturally occuring made of untouchable magic. Different realms may have different rules or properties. For example, our world connects to Antasma, and, obviously, there's no magic in our world.
